Handcrafted buttons

Many new designs are constantly being created. Sampling is continuous, experimenting with ideas, and new designs are added to the collection on a regular basis. Unfortunately some of the older designs are exhausted and have now been discontinued.

N.B. These buttons are machine-washable. However, we advise that articles are turned inside-out and placed in a protective wash-bag. This should prevent chipping as buttons bang against the washing machine drum. Please note that colours of the glazes may vary but we have set our production processes to standardise the end results on each batch.

How are they made?

Once the clay buttons are shaped the next stage is to dry then thoroughly, and then to rub them down to give a soft rounded edge. Ceramic glazes are then carefully applied, overlapping several coats of up to six layers. The glaze-coated buttons are then carefully placed in the kiln and fired to a temperature of up to 1045°c. Each firing can take up to 8 hours or even overnight to complete. Many of the designs use moulded textured effects, decorated with an exciting range of opaque and transparent glazes. All the buttons are fully washable and suitable for a wide range of knitting projects.

See below, examples of miniature ceramic artwork – with variations on selected designs. These are made from earthenware clays, kiln-fired and glazed with colours specially selected for brilliance and shade.

Orders must be paid by cheque. Please make your cheque payable to DEBBIE ABRAHAMS and post it to my address (see above). Your order will be despatched within 7 days. If the item you have ordered is out of stock, you will be notified immediately. When ordering please state Code number and name for each button.

Alternatively you can pal by Paypal. This is a secure way of paying for your goods by either debit or credit card. If you wish to pay by Paypal, please contact me by email me and I will send you a Request form. All of the details about how to set up your payment are on this document. Buttons are individually priced. The less detailed buttons are priced at £1.00 (US$ 2.00) per button and the more complex designs are from £1.30 (US$ 2.60) per button.

There is a minimum order of £5.00 (US$ 10.00) and please add the following to your order for postage and packaging:
01>10 ordered + £1.00 (US$ 2.00),
11>20 ordered + £1.50 (US$ 3.00),
21> upwards ordered + £2.00 (US$ 4.00).

Larger amounts will be calculated at point of order. The buttons can be bought individually or in sets of 5 or 6, mounted on card.
